AI For Manufacturers: Foundations & Practical Applications
March 26 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
| $150Artificial intelligence is already influencing how manufacturers plan, operate, and compete. Yet for many companies, separating real operational value from noise and hype remains a challenge.
This hands-on workshop is designed for manufacturing owners, operations leaders, and decision-makers who want a clear, practical understanding of AI and how it applies on the shop floor and across the business. The focus is not theory. It is real examples, live demonstrations, and guided exercises grounded in manufacturing environments.
Participants will leave with a stronger grasp of what AI can realistically do today, where it delivers the most value, and how to take an informed next step without overinvesting or overcomplicating the process.
Topics covered include:
- AI Basics: A plain-language overview of artificial intelligence, what it is and what it is not. Learn key concepts, common terminology, and the different types of AI relevant to manufacturing operations.
- Generative AI Tools: An introduction to widely used GenAI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, and Gemini, with demonstrations and hands-on exercises. Explore how these tools can support planning, documentation, analysis, and decision-making when used correctly.
- Manufacturing Use Cases: Real-world examples of AI applied in manufacturing, including operations, quality, maintenance, supply chain, engineering, and administrative functions. Discussion centers on practical impact, limitations, and lessons learned.
- Vendor Landscape: An overview of the AI provider ecosystem, including platforms, software vendors, and consultants. Learn how to evaluate options, ask the right questions, and avoid common pitfalls when selecting AI solutions or partners.
This workshop is built for manufacturers who want clarity, confidence, and a realistic path forward with AI. Practical. Applicable. Focused on manufacturing realities.
Please note: Participants should bring their own laptop with access to an AI platform for the hands-on portion of the workshop. We will use Copilot and ChatGPT for demonstrations. Access may be through a company or enterprise account, or a free personal login to the participant’s chosen platform.
