Vision2025 and Chamber Expanding Marketing Efforts

The Greater Johnstown/Cambria County Chamber of Commerce and Vision2025 announced a partnership last week to expand marketing efforts and enhance the online presence of both organizations.

Steve Jones joined the Chamber & Vision2025 teams as the new Digital Content Coordinator, a shared position between the two organizations designed to create an enhanced online and social media strategy.

Jennifer Tiffany transitions from her role as the Membership Relations Manager at the Chamber to the Communications Director of this new collaboration.

Vision Teams Win Funding during PITTchFest ’17

At PITTchFest ’17, held on June 1 at Showcase for Commerce, three Vision teams competed for cash funding to help implement their community initiatives. PITTchFest is a shark-tank style competition with the goal to provide start-up capital to innovative business ideas. This year, PITTchFest expanded to include a new “social entrepreneurship” category. Eight Vision2025 capture teams applied to pitch, and three finalists were selected.

The Central Park Square Marketing Group took first place winning $2,000 to help develop an outreach and marketing strategy to promote investment into and around Central Park. The Urban Johnstown Connectivity Project received $1,000 to contribute to the completion of a regional trail planning initiative. Fresh Start Soap Pantry won $500 to help develop a sustainable business and marketing strategy to deliver care kits, hygiene products and resource information to local individuals in need.

Starbucks Day of Service Scheduled For This Saturday

As part of the Starbucks Global Month of Service, staff members from Johnstown’s Starbucks have organized a clean-up and enhancement of the city’s community gardens for Saturday, April 29. Starbucks will be providing lunch for all volunteers. Managers and staff from Starbucks locations across Western Pennsylvania are travelling to Johnstown to participate in this event.

The itinerary is as follows:

9:30-10:00 AM: Registration with light refreshments
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Shuttle Service to multiple community gardens
2:00 PM: Lunch at Sandyvale Conservancy

Volunteers are to meet at Sandyvale Memorial Gardens and Conservancy, 80 Hickory St, Johnstown. Some tools and equipment will be provided, but if possible volunteers are encouraged to bring their own marked equipment. Pre-registration is requested to be sent to .

Vision2025 Golf Tournament

If you are looking to play the most iconic golf course in the Laurel Highlands along with supporting your community, the opportunity is here!

Vision2025 is hosting the 1st Annual Golf Tournament at Sunnehanna Country Club on June 5, 2017 to support Youth Development. The entrance fee of $125.00 per golfer includes lunch, greens fees, cart, dinner and various prize opportunities. There are many sponsorship opportunities available at a variety of levels.

Greenway and Trail Hub Planning Project

Vision 2025 and Discover Downtown Johnstown Partnership are accepting proposals for a one-time contract to perform professional consulting services! These services involve the preparation of planning documents for a proposed greenway and trail hub along Main Street in downtown Johnstown.
Goals include expanding recreation opportunities, celebrating cultural and historic heritage, bolstering economic development, increasing pedestrian and bicyclist mobility and promoting healthy lifestyles.
