The
JARI Procurement Technical Assistance Center is hosting a
procurement workshop featuring the Defense Supply Center Columbus
(DSCC) at the Holiday Inn in Johnstown on January 15. DSCC
is a $3 billion a year Federal Procurement Activity that manages parts
and supplies for almost everything, including cars, tanks, weapons
systems, ships, planes, missile systems, snowshoes for dogs, farm
tractors, diver's knives, and fire trucks. The
workshop will detail how local small businesses can get contracts
from DSCC and sell their products.
Cost
to attend is $20, which includes workshop materials, breakfast, and

University of Pennsylvania's SBDC
is one of the trial sites for the launch of new Business Skills
for Success E-Learning
opportunities that eventually will be available through all the SBDCs in
Pennsylvania. Currently, you can access these E-Learning opportunities here
through a link on the Kutztown
SBDC website. The courses are taught by instructors accredited
through the Kaufman Foundation's Fast
TracŪ Program.

Breakthrough: Researchers at Penn
State University have discovered a way to increase the data transmission of
Category-7 copper cables. The design makes possible the
transmission of 100 gigabits per second over 100 meters of the
