TPI Double Feature: Harnessing Technology for Microenterprise MicroMentor is an online service that helps emerging entrepreneurs to grow their businesses by matching them in mentoring relationships with experienced business professionals having specific industry-based expertise. The group's mentors volunteer their time to meaningfully impact the lives of those new to the world of small business. My Own Business is an online business planning course for current and aspiring micro and small business owners that teaches the fundamentals of business planning. |
The TTC, a statewide economic development organization that supports the growth of Pennsylvania's world-class agile robotics, cyber-security and advanced electronic technologies industries, expects to award $1.5 million in technology commercialization funding to university researchers/groups, start-up companies, and established companies based in Pennsylvania on or before April 1, 2008. Through a competitive selection process, TTC intends to award funding to one or more projects that address key engineering design challenges, show a high degree of innovation and most importantly, identify a clear path to commercialization with the potential to significantly impact digital and/or robotics technologies. Attendees will learn details about the submission process, matching requirements proposal format and evaluation criteria; TTC technology interests; possible corporate sponsorship opportunities; and how to structure program plans, commercialization plans, and IP rights. Dr. Brandt will also be available to provide preliminary feedback on proposal concepts. The Enterprise Forum will begin promptly at 5:30 PM in the downtown Johnstown Central Park Complex auditorium at the intersection of Franklin and Locust Streets. Free parking is available on and around the front of the Complex or in the rear parking lot. Use the Locust Street entrance and take the elevator to the 2nd floor. Light refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served. The Enterprise Forum is free of charge.
JARI staff will be on hand beginning at 5:30 to assist companies to input their data and to learn how to use the search tools. Please go directly to the Pennsylvania Highlands Community College computer lab on the 2nd floor if you do not wish to attend The Technology Collaborative presentation.
