Government Procurement Expo (GPE)Location: Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center @ 301 Napoleon Street, Johnstown, PA Time: 11:00 AM till 3:30 PM Overview: The Government Procurement Expo is an exclusive venue for U.S. and Pennsylvania government agency buyers to meet with business suppliers in pre-arranged, one-on-one sessions. The first few years of this event have averaged over 20 agency buyer organizations and 100 small business vendor organizations. JARI PTAC procurement counselors interview each government agency to determine what the agency needs to buy, as well as what it is NOT interested in buying. Similarly, each business supplier is surveyed to determine what they want to sell. Agency needs are matched with vendor capabilities and 15-minute “speed dating” sessions are arranged to ensure the most productive use of everyone’s time. This is followed by a general “open networking session” at the end of the day to capture any additional opportunities. ONLY government agencies or business support organizations (e.g., PTACs) have exhibits at the Government Procurement Expo. Business supplier representatives “walk the floor” and meet with the government agencies at their respective tables to discuss upcoming opportunities.
